The Carbon Management Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating leaders on the opportunities in carbon management.

The Council was founded in December 2007 to serve as the first stop for decision makers preparing a carbon management program and for those looking to discover the market opportunities created by reducing their carbon footprint.

Our Mission

Our mission is to:

  • provide credible, unbiased information on carbon management principles and practices to the public;
  • create opportunities for business leaders, government organizations, policy makers, and researchers to implement sound carbon management solutions to reduce their carbon footprint; and
  • recognize excellence in carbon management.
Our Members

Our member companies, universities, trade associations and individuals constitute what is the most diverse membership association related to carbon management. The Council represents leaders in aviation, insurance, finance, engineering, transportation, manufacturing, renewable energy, agriculture, consulting, law, information technology, and more. Our corporate members range in size from Fortune 500 to less than $1 million in revenue; from industry leaders in sustainability to those just beginning to examine their environmental footprint. We welcome all interested in the issues and opportunities in carbon management.

The Carbon Management Council is a nonprofit organization organized under the laws of the District of Columbia. The Council has applied for recognition as a 501(c)(3) organization (approval pending).
